Especially , he’s curious about (i) theory of convex and non-convex optimization motivated by statistical/machine learning problems; (ii) data-driven deciding with applications in advertisement allocation and machine scheduling; (iii) huge-scaling applied mathematics solving within the distributed setting (with applications at Google).
He published number of journals including various kind of Mathematical Programming and SIAM Journal on Optimization.
Lu obtained his Ph.D in research and applied math at MIT in 2019. From the University of Shanghai Jiao Tong in 2014 he complete his B.S. in Mathematics. Before joining Booth, he was a visiting researcher at Google research large-scale optimization team, where he primarily worked on designing and implementing a huge-scale applied mathematics solver.
